1/21/23 – Presentation by Dr. Thomas Sheridan

The public is invited to attend  a meeting of the Patagonia Museum on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10:30 am in the Patagonia Public Library.  Following a brief business meeting, Dr. Thomas Sheridan, distinguished outreach professor, research anthropologist and professor of anthropology from the Southwest Center and the School of Anthropology at the University of Arizona will speak on the fight to keep the Empire Ranch from being subdivided back in the 1970s.

That effort not only paved the way for the creation of Las Cienegas National Conservation Area but contributed to the groundswell of support for the conservation of large landscapes and biodiversity that made the Pima County’s Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan possible.
